The spectacular five-star InterContinental Barcelona Hotel, which opened its doors at the end of last year in the heart of Montjuic, has relied on BMOTION to take audiovisual services to another level in its meetings and events rooms. We are talking about a total of 18 rooms, which are now fully equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and audiovisual solutions designed for a total customization of the events. This means that your meetings, conferences, banquets and exhibitions will be run smoothly and will have the latest technology both in video, sound and lighting. Furthermore, the event organizers will get advice and constant support from the in-house Production staff at BMOTION and the hotel complex itself, who will take care of every need.
The jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the Verdi Room, of 786 m2, which is equipped with an impressive backwall of a fully customizable design of 16.00 x 3.50m, also integrating a LED screen of 10.00 x 3.00m. The audiovisual equipment of this large room also includes a sound system of the prestigious brand d&b and a rigging system with a front truss bridge, equipped with LED light projectors to illuminate the stage; a complete and advanced audiovisual system available to serve any type of event avoiding set-up costs.
As if that were not enough, InterContinental Barcelona has just renewed its Wi-Fi system, providing its network with 5G service. This will facilitate the development of audiovisual technologies in their meeting spaces, thus ready to offer immersive experiences including augmented reality, virtual reality or video mapping, with a download speed of 1Gbps.

This week from BMOTION we have provided the technical and audiovisual means for two of the most important and expected meetings of world tourism, the first meeting of the year of the UNWTO World Tourism Crisis Committee and the 113th session of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization, held at the RIU hotel in Madrid.
These hybrid meetings brought together a select group of 150 on-site attendees, global tourism leaders, members of various United Nations agencies and private sector representatives, who joined forces to explore trends in world tourism and to present different tourism recovery scenarios, one of the pandemic most affected sectors. Harmonized plans and protocols aimed at the recovery of the tourism sector and safe international mobility have been agreed upon, proposing among other measures, vaccination certificates, testing of passengers agreements and promoting coordination between the different international organizations, with the objective of #Reiniciarelturismo.
Both meetings have a great significance not only for tourism, an economic field among the most important in the world in which our country has been a world power so far , but also for the events industry, closely linked to tourism, because they promote the harmonization and coordination of regulations and efficient protocols that will help us all to return to face-to-face events sooner, and thus help to restore normality to our sector. In addition, with the celebration of this hybrid event, it has been demonstrated once again the possibility of holding face-to-face international nature events in our territory, while maintaining the highest levels of security, which is essential to restore confidence.
We are aware that recovering face-to-face events and the entire economy will require everyone’s effort, we will be almost starting from scratch and full of uncertainty while the long-awaited reset of the events sector arrives. But we also hope that during this period we will have learned many things together: hopefully, when we return to face-to-face events, those events will be better, more sustainable and more inclusive, as Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO Secretary General, says.
What we will be for sure after this reset is a more innovative industry thanks to new technologies and the digital transformation we have achieved, and certainly more resilient, because what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.

The Eventoplus Awards are already an institution and a benchmark in the events industry. They represent the recognition of excellence and talent, and fill with pride its holders, professionals and companies from most areas of this wonderful industry. Over the course of its 15 years of existence, the Gala has evolved to become an essential event for brands, agencies and suppliers.
Although this year circumstances have forced us to wait until December, traditionally the Eventoplus Awards takes place early July and therefore, for many, until this year it meant the end of a hard events season before summer; we wait for it exhausted, but looking forward to it, as the end of school party, curious to know who the winners will be and excited to meet with friends, colleagues and customers in the relaxed and fun atmosphere that characterizes the event.
We have always loved to attend, but in this complicated year, providing the audiovisual resources in these Eventoplus 2020 Awards has had for us both an emotional and vindicating point: we were looking forward to meet again in person with our beloved industry, but also to show the world that we can continue to make face-to-face events by applying the proper security protocols, and to start walking together towards the revival of our industry.
