Distancing and sustainability in the events “new normality”

Under these difficult circumstances, restrictions such as confinement and distancing have affected our MICE industry so much that it might seem like Mother Earth’s revenge on an activity that has a great environmental impact: event organization. It is time for solidarity, for helping each other, and if there’ s one good thing about it, it is the small involuntary progress we have made with forced confinement on behalf of the environment.

There is certainly some time left until we can organize face-to-face events again, a valuable time in which we can think about how to organize better events in the new normality, which will be planned with a greater distance, no doubt, and why not, also more sustainable.

Distancing

In the first events, we will see a 2 meters mandatory distance between participants, marked and regulated spaces with capacity reductions at interpretation booths and technical controls will leave event spaces at 40% of their usual maximum capacity, on average. We will have to divide the spaces with partitions, and distribute masks and disinfectant gels.

Disinfection

Within the quotations we will have to think about different methods of disinfection of facilities and access points, regarding the elements that attendees or speakers may handle, and the management of hazardous waste such as masks and disposable material or microphone covers.

Temperature control

Yes, they will control us like Chinese. One extra tenth and we can’t get in, to everyone’s benefit.

Impact is not only wow at events, it is also environmental

Yes, we admit the sad reality: it is difficult to reduce the impact of an event on the environment without affecting its essence. But we can start by making small changes in many organizational aspects to do our bit for a future with more respectful events for the enviornment.

Now skies over large deserted cities are clearer than ever, it may be the best time to focus on the unfinished business we have had for years: sustainability.

How can we make our events more sustainable?

Reduction of waste generated during events

It is time to commit ourselves to quality and sustainability, to people and to our planet, to help taking care of the environment, and to help our customers to be more sustainable through the use of our services.

By obtaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Quality and Environmental Management certifications, we commit ourselves to manage our waste, prevent risks and protect the environment by implementing policies to preserve resources and reduce the waste generated by our activity, for example in the construction of creative sets and Stand.

Environmentally friendly scenography

90% of the conventional materials used for scenography and stand construction at events are not recyclable. But now we can access to a modular alternative to make stage, stands and any type of ephemeral construction for events with exclusive and impressive designs, yet sustainable and reusable, a reduced cost solution, fast assembly and a great ROI.

  • Easy assembly and transport

These scenographic materials stand out for their durability and versatility, so easy to assemble that they drastically reduce assembly and disassembly times.

  • Material reuse

These systems structure is made of recycled aluminum frames, even though the extraction of raw materials for the aluminium production is quite harmful to the environment, it is a recyclable material that can be reused indefinitely. Once manufactured in aluminum frame, this type of modular, recoverable and reusable systems can be covered with any “skin” to adapt to your corporate identity.

This modular system allows us to create incredible designs and cover them with reusable textiles printed with sustainable inks, better yet, with digital LED screens, or a combination of both. The printed fabrics can be reused many times, adapting the investment to multiple events, and minimizing waste.

Paperless

Many digital services such as streaming and interactive digital apps that will help you with many processes offering immediate information and interaction to attendees.

Streaming

We will avoid the transportation of many people and the huge impact on the environment, organizing simultaneous events in several locations, which can be connected by streaming. furthermore, this will be the way to be able to adjust to the reduced capacity of event spaces, and people who are not immunized or are more vulnerable can participate without any problem.
